Amazing how time flies

There have been so many things that have happened since I posted last. I will do my best to cover it all. I will being in February since that is the last time I posted. I had started the Tamoxifen(which I will be taking for 5 years). It is an anti-hormone therapy pill. I had huge ups and downs for the first 6 weeks. It was an emotional roller coaster that I wanted to jump off of. I would cry at a commercial and get angry if someone smiled at me the wrong way. It was miserable feeling that way, I am so thankful that it has passed.
I had my yearly mammogram/ultrasound in May. The entire month before the exam I was a nervous wreck. It was constantly on my mind. I was so nervous to go in, in fear that the cancer was NOT gone. It is amazing how many crazy thoughts can run through your mind.
I still was not feeling physically well and at the end of June missed some time from work because I had the flu. I had more blood work done which was not up to par for my oncologist so had to have a couple extra visits with her. I have had some major leg pains and lower back problems that have just gotten worse over time. My oncologist finally ordered an MRI for me. Results came back that there was no cancer but that I have a herniated disk(L5 I think). This was such a huge relief for me. I was feeling very down and discouraged that I had not been progressively feeling better. Although I am still in pain my spirits are much better. I am now seeing a physical therapist who has helped a ton. Apparently I also have a curvuture in my spine that is wanting to go one way while I need to go the other way to help heal the disk. The PT has given me excercieses to work on and it has helped with the leg pains. We are working on the pain from the curvature and when that is to a point I feel comfortable with we will focus on the disk. I did have a neurosurgeon and orthopedic specialist look at the MRI. They both agreed that it would be best to try other methods before injections or surgery. Just my luck though, my herniation can go either way. It could heal in 6-9 months or it could just get worse and then I will be looking at injections and/or surgery. The orthoped. said that 75% of the people with a herniation like mine will have it heal on their own.

ok I will have to revist this later. I will edit and update more after I help Hunter out. He is needing some mommy time.

so thought maybe it was time to update on me

The past several months have been terribly difficult for me. My emotions and hormones have been running crazy. I have been a wreck on the inside trying to hold everything together to appear that all was ok.

Race for the Cure May 9th

Dear Friends and Family,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support
the Komen Salt Lake City Race for the Cure® on May 09, 2009 in the fight
against breast cancer. One in eight women will be stricken with
breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Salt
Lake City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure can give
back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment
programs in our own community and support the national search for a
cure.

Click here to visit my personal page and pledge your support.

Please join me in the fight by pledging in support of my participation
in the Race or contributing generously to the Komen Salt Lake City Race for the Cure®. Your tax-deductible
contribution will fund innovative outreach and awareness programs for
medically underserved communities in the Salt Lake area and
national breast cancer research. It is faster and easier than ever to
support this great cause - you can make a donation online by simply
clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you would

address listed below. Whatever you can give will help! I truly
appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you so much for your time and support in the fight against
breast cancer! Every step counts!

Sincerely,

Lynda

A little story I want to share with you.

Too Busy for a Friend...

One day a teacher asked
Her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.
Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.
It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.

That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.

On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. 'Really?' she heard whispered. 'I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!' and, 'I didn't know others liked me so much,' were most of the comments.
No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.
Several years later, one of
The students was killed In Vietnam
And his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.

The church was packed with
His friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin.
As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. 'Were you Mark's math teacher?' he asked. She nodded: 'yes.' Then he said: 'Mark talked about you a lot.'

After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.

'We want to show you something,' his father said, taking a wallet out of his
Pocket 'They found this on Mark when he was killed.
We thought you might recognize it.'

Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.

'Thank you so much for doing that,' Mark's mother said. 'As you can see, Mark treasured it.'

All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, 'I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home.'

Chuck's wife said, 'Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album.'

'I have mine too,' Marilyn said. 'It's in my diary'
Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. 'I carry this with me at all times,' Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: 'I think we all saved our lists'
That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.
The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.
So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.

Please chose to do something nice and beautiful by passing this message on.
If you are reading this, it is because someone cares for you and it means there is probably at least someone for whom you care.
If you're 'too busy' to take those few minutes right now to forward this message on, would this be the VERY first time you didn't do that little thing that would make a difference in your relationships?

The more people that you share this with, the better you'll be at reaching out to those you care about.

Remember, you reap what you sow. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.

May Your Day Be Blessed As Special As You

Where does the time go!

I have neglected to post here mostly because then I have to think about how I am feeling. I had a long month. A bit of a breakdown in December and I am slowly getting better. It has been very frustrating for me to not be able to do everything I use to do. Luckily I have great co-workers, friends and family that have been supportive.

I am not going to be able to finish this post. I will have to come back later. It is difficult for me to put into words how I have felt mentally and physically over the last month.
Thank you to everyone who has read my blog and has supported me. I will post again soon.
